THE REPORT OF UYACHO FROM NOV-2009 TO March 2010

The organization of UMMUL YATYM ORPHAN CHILDREN’S HOME in short UYACHO have put step forward in these month from November 2009 up to march 2010 on the following things

The constriction of build now we have finished since in the last of January but the problem is we didn’t put the step because of money the money used Is Tz sh5000000 [five million of Tanzania shillings]

That money of constriction we get from friends of Denmark, friend from Germany and other from Bukoba the big help is from Oivind a volunteer from Denmark

Also we repaired the classroom inside and out side we paint that class room and put chuping the money used in repairing the classroom were TSH 280000. This help we got from Mr. Eskil who is a Danish man and he lives in Morsoe, Denmark.

At this time we want to start the building of a cowhouse which will take TSH 665000. We have got that money from Ivan and Katrine who live I Denmark. Not only to start the building of cowhouse, but also we want to start the project of chicken as soon as we can. The money of cowhouse is here but the money of starting chicken project is on the way. We will get that money from Rotary Club in Denmark.

Even though of those things we will get a gap because our volunteer who is from Denmark and his name is Øjvind Arnfred, he is leaving in 21st of March 2010. He was been here for 7 months since august. Instead of that gap it will be filled by another volunteer who is coming on 3rd of March 2010 and start to work at Uyacho on 4th of March 2010. He is a boy from Denmark. His name is Kasper, and he comes from Morsø, from the organisation Morsoe 3rd World Association. He will be here for three months.

Lastly we are going to focus in education. Last year we have got 6 children who were in standard 7. 3 of them were selected to join secondary education, in this year 2010 in government schools and the rest were not selected to join. We were trying to find support somewhere so as they can go to private schools but up to now 1 child is still home. Those 2 children have got support: one from the board of Nyanshenye Secondary School; it was decided to help us one child and the second one was get from EETC training center. It was the help from the director of EETC. The big problem is still there because the one who remains at house up to now is a girl. We are trying to find anywhere so as she can go to school. We have got one child who is in University. He got to university last year. He is in a first year now. He is schooling in University of Dar es Salaam campus of Iringa.

The loan board of the student was agreed to pay for him, 70 % of his education, and the rest which is 30 % he must pay himself. The one who is to suppose to pay the last 30 % which is almost TSH 400000 is the center and still we don’t know how to do.

Many greetings from Uyacho

UYACHO

The Ummul Yatym orphan Children's Home (UYACHO), short report of it's existence (since 1999)

The Ummul Yatym orphan Children's Home (UYACHO), the non-govermential organisation, was legally established in December 1998 with reg. no. 10203 under critical supervision of Saade Suleiman, the executive director.

Since then, the organisation has been helping children, particularly the orphans as well as those living in vulnerable situations by providing them with shelter, food, school equipment and health care.

The above organisation continue operating due to support the good support from Denmark whose efforts facilitate the organisation's existence whereby financial and social assistance such as 20 matresses, ten tables, ten chairs, sports and games facilities, hats (TNT), bed sheets for both children and adults, portable chalkboard, ties, bags (TNT), pencils, pens, clothes, papers, toys, rulers, padlocks and more have always been provided to the organisation.

Furthermore, the organisation since it's existence has managed to raise the children's living standard such as that 5 children, financed by the organisation, joined the Vocational Training (VETA), 10 children joined the secondary schools, 20 children joined both private and goverment schools, and 10 children joined the kindergarten studies.

It is also due to organisation efforts that led to the establishments of the cowshed; this being the sustainable economic project for the organisation.

Despite the succes, the organisation lacks the build the children's dormitory as well as the dinning hall where food may be supplied to children during the supper and lunch times. In some instances, the children's properties are sometimes stolen because the security is minimal due to the fact that their dormitory is not fenced.

Lastly, the organisation requests the following from the donors in order to keep on operating:

1. A proper standardised children's dormitory for them to live in a conducive enviroment, the barbed wires for the fence in order to improve security. 2. A well established handcraft factory that would provide manual work skills to children such as carpentry and bakery in order to raise the economic strength af the organisation.
